In the first phase of this sustainable development project, we approached decision-makers, socio-economic players and the population at large to inform them about sustainable development and ensure all parties use a common terminology so the people and organizations involved are prepared for the second phase. The key event was the conference on sustainable development for the Gaspesia and Magdalen Islands region.

This phase was guided by the same spirit as the first item in Quebec’s Sustainable Development Plan in which we note the importance of “the development, acquisition and sharing of scientific, technical, traditional and popular experiences in order to stimulate the interest and commitment of populations for sustainable development.
